- Ingredients:
° 500 g flour
° 1 egg
° ½ glass of sugar (the glass measures 210 ml)
° ¼ glass of oil
° 1 level tbsp dry baker’s yeast
° lemon zest
°About 200 ml of lukewarm water
- Instructions :
Dilute the yeast in a little lukewarm water with a little sugar and leave to foam for about 14 minutes.
In a bowl combine the flour, sugar, egg, oil and lemon zest.
Gradually add the yeast to the mixture and the lukewarm water to obtain a smooth paste.
Covering & permit dough rest for 1 h.
Degas the dough, flour the work surface and roll out the dough to a thickness of 1.5 cm.
Cut circles with a glass or like me with a shortbread cookie cutter.
Place the donuts on a lightly floured tea towel. Cover and let stand 45 min.
Heat the oil and fry them on both sides.
Drain them in a colander and coat them with still hot sugar.
Serving hot or warm with a good mint tea!
