In a bowl, mix together 2 cups (500 ml) of flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add hot water and 1/3 cup (75 ml) oil; Mix well for 1 minute. Bit by bit adding enough of the rest flour to form a soft dough. The dough must form a ball & be slightly sticky. Kneading on a flour surface, add additional flour, if need, TO smooth and elastic, about 4 min.
Brush a greased pizza dish with 1-1/2 tbsp. (7 ml) olive oil. Using floured hands, spread the dough to fill a pizza plate or baking sheet.
Or on a floured counter, roll dough into a 12-inch (30-cm) disk. Form an edge by pinching the edge of the dough. Grease the dough with 1-1/2 tbsp. (22 ml) olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic salt, cheese, and Italian seasoning with herbs.
Bake on the lower rack in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the crust has turned brown.
Take it out of the oven. Cut into 2.5 cm strips. Serving with sauce-marinara or pizza sauce for dip.
*If you don’t have a thermometer, the water should be very hot to the touch.
** To knead the dough, add enough flour to the dough with your hands to prevent it from sticking. Flatten the dough and fold it towards
you. Using the base of your palms, push the dough out in a circular motion. Give the dough a quarter turn and repeat the steps Bending, Pushing, and Rolling. Continue kneading to dough becomes smooth also elastic. Use a little more flour if the dough becomes too sticky with all the flour incorporated into the dough ball.
