It’s Mexican night tonight! I have a list of my favourite to prepare. Friends are coming over and we are all looking forward to a great company and of course, food. They all love my Cheesy Taco Pockets so I am prepping what I need. With only a few simple ingredients, these zesty beef with tons of melty cheese wrapped in perfectly baked, golden tortillas are on their way!
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
8 ounces cream cheese room temp
1/2 c. salsa
1 c. cheddar cheese shredded
2 tbsp butter melted
12 small flour tortillas
sour cream salsa, tomatoes, etc. for garnish
How to make Cheesy Taco Pockets
Step 1: Brown the ground beef, crumbling as it cooks. Then, drain.
Step 2: To the ground beef, add a packet of seasoning, following the directions on the packet to season the ground beef.
Step 3: Beat the cream cheese in a medium-sized mixing bowl until almost fluffy. Gradually add in the salsa, stirring well until incorporated.
Step 4: In the centre of a tortilla, spread a spoon full of the salsa mixture. On top, add enough ground beef to cover the salsa, then add the cheese over.
Step 5: Now, fold the tortilla like a burrito and place it on a greased cookie sheet.
Step 6: With melted butter, brush the tops of the burritos.
Step 7: Place inside a 350 degrees F preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
Step 8: Garnish with your favourite taco toppings and serve. Enjoy!
