Check what sorts of incidents are covered
Accidents, illness, dental work, breed-specific diseases, and even wellness are some of the things that pet insurance will cover. Some policies are accident-only, which means your pet will only be covered if anything goes wrong, such as getting poisoned by chocolate or being hit by a car.
These policies, however, will not cover you if your pet becomes unwell, such as with a tumor or illness. Higher levels of pet insurance may cover things like allergies or lung difficulties, which are breed-specific or inherited.
They’ll also cover dental work and even preventative measures such as immunizations and worming.
It’s crucial to calculate how much you expect to spend on various accidents over the course of a year and how much you’re ready to pay in premiums to protect your pet from them.
