INGREDIENTS
●1 cup butter, softened
●2 cups sugar
●4 large eggs, room temperature
●2 teaspoons vanilla extract
●3 cups all-purpose flour
●1 teaspoon baking powder
●1/2 teaspoon baking soda
●1/2 teaspoon salt
●1 cup buttermilk
Butter Sauce:
●1 cup sugar
●1/2 cup butter, cubed
●1/4 cup water
●1-1/2 teaspoons almond extract
●1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS
1-In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.
2-Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. tube pan. Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 55-70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges and center tube of the pan. Invert the cake onto a wire rack over waxed paper.
