A bowl of KFC Original Recipe Chicken has a nostalgic charm. Since most of us didn’t have parents who were able to fry chicken at home while we were growing up, KFC became a special occasion snack. It wowed us with its salty, greasy, hot, and flavorful crust at block parties, Fourth of July festivals, and end-of-season soccer tournaments. You’d wind up with the one at the bottom of the bucket, drained of its extra crispy skin by someone with a voracious appetite, if you didn’t get a bite early enough, also known as the saddest thing ever. 

While it requires many ingredients, KFC’s chicken isn’t any more complex than most fried chicken recipes. Flour and spices are mixed together to make the tasty coating. KFC does not brine their chicken before frying it, as far as we can say. After conducting side-by-side experiments, we discovered that the only way to make chicken as juicy as KFC’s was to marinate it in buttermilk. 

The buttermilk tenderizes the meat, and the addition of an egg to the mix provides a better shape for the breading to conform to later.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

– A whole chicken, use a medium-sized one, cut it into 8 pieces.

– 1 Tbsp.Of red pepper.

– 1 Tbsp.Of table salt.

– 1 Tsp.Of garlic powder.

– ¼ Cup.Of water.

– Oil, for frying.

– Flour, for packing.

PREPARATION METHOD:

You must take all of the measures below to cook chicken on your way to KFC:

—Step 1: To begin, you need to wash the chicken with water, white vinegar, lemon juice, and flour, then slice it into 8 equal pieces. I used a medium chicken.  

—Step 2: Then I put the chicken in a big bowl with a quarter cup of water and coated it with all the spices. 

—Step 3: Following that, I steeped the chicken in the refrigerator for at least two hours to ensure that the spices were well absorbed. 

—Step 4: Then, I coated each piece of chicken with flour, and dipped it in water, and then returned it into flour. 

—Step 5: At this step, I heated the vegetable oil in a deep pot for around 3 minutes over high heat.

—Step 6: Then, I reduced the heat and waited for 10 to 15 minutes for it to brown well, and I served it hot with brown rice and salads.
