Your mattress is often a victim of the worst kinds of grime – sweat, saliva, dead skin cells, hair, body oils, and a variety of other bodily fluids. Combine that with allergens, dust mites, domestic pollution, and pet dander common in most homes, and you’ve got a mattress that urgently needs cleaning.

Despite the fact that mattresses are significant investments and crucial to maintaining both your mental and physical health, many people neglect to properly clean them. Similar to how you regularly launder your bed sheets, your mattress also requires cleaning, though thankfully less frequently.

But when the time comes to give your mattress a deep clean, you don’t need to resort to harsh chemicals or pricey commercial cleaning products. Even though it’s crucial to keep the area where you spend one-third of your life spotless and refreshing, it doesn’t imply you need to surround yourself with potentially irritating fragrances, cleaners, or harsh chemical substances. Instead, you can opt for natural techniques and simple household ingredients to clean and deodorize your mattress, remove stubborn stains, and prepare your sleep sanctuary for peaceful dreams.

Here’s a DIY guide to remove urine and sweat stains from your mattress, requiring just three

 ingredients.

Ingredients:

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 drop of dishwashing liquid

8 oz bottle of hydrogen peroxide

3 Tablespoons of baking soda

A spray bottle

Instructions:

In a bowl, mix the three ingredients together.

Stir the mixture thoroughly until well combined.

Pour the solution into the spray bottle.

Spray the mixture onto the stain on your mattress.

Allow the solution to sit for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Vacuum or brush off the mattress to remove the residue.

*Note: It’s important to use the mixture within 20 minutes of preparation and discard any leftovers. The ingredients will lose their effectiveness after this period and won’t be able to clean as intended.
